Why innovation is essential for success
Innovating means working to bring new ideas and products to market with no guarantee that they will work. However, although it may seem risky, innovation is the most powerful tool that startups have, to grow quickly and revolutionize any sector.
Specifically, biotechnology has enough potential to generate a great, positive impact on people’s health worldwide, but to do so, it is necessary to provide products that are as innovative as effective.
In this context, El Referente has published the third ranking of the most innovative startup in Spain in 2022. To carry it out, 300 startups from the Startup Ecosystem Database founded between 2020 and 2022 have been selected, of which the most promising have been shortlisted because:
- They have an innovative or disruptive component and a scalable business model.
- They have been founded in Spain during the last 3 years.
- They have raised, at most, 1M €.
A bridge between molecules and patients
In this edition, DIVERSA has been selected. The need that our company has identified is the limitation of new therapies in reaching the clinic, as fewer than 3% of new molecules discovered pass from bench to the bedside. Most of them are discarded in early stages of research due to their inability to access the inside of cells.
We aim to improve patient quality of life by creating a solution to this problem. To this end, we have developed patented lipid nanoemulsions with stable and controlled production, which offer a promising way for molecule delivery. We are taking a big challenge, but we have advanced in the field by being innovative. The gap between the lab and the clinic is narrowing.
