DIVERSA will participate in BioSpain 2023, the main biotechnology event held in Spain and one of the most important in Europe. It will take place in Barcelona on the 26-28th of September.
What’s BioSpain about?
BioSpain is the largest biotech event organized by a national bioindustry association in Europe, AseBio – Asociación Española de Empresas Biotecnológicas, and one of the largest in the world by the number of one-to-one meetings and companies participating. 34% of the delegates participating come from outside of Spain.
The expected Biospain impact is genuinely astonishing. More than 800 companies will participate, with 2000 attendees, 4000 one-to-one meetings, and more than 30 countries represented. It is an exciting opportunity to share DIVERSA’s science and discuss our ideas and points of view with experts in the field.

The biotech sector boosts in Spain!
It comes as no surprise that an event of this dimension takes place in Spain. According to the 2022 AseBio report, Spanish biotechnology makes up 2.6 % of global production. Spain takes the 9th position on the ranking by documents in biotechnology and produces science of excellence with 22.8 % of papers among the world’s top 10 % most cited.
More precisely, the report points to Galicia, where DIVERSA comes from, as the second bioentrepreneur autonomous region in Spain, where nine biotech companies were born in 2022. The biotech ecosystem of Galicia stands out for one more year as a generator of new business projects in the biotech innovation industry, an already strategic sector for the Galician economy.
